The Timeline AJAX application allows data to be presented in a timeline just as say, google maps presents information geographically.

More like multiple (Web 2.0) sites become one webpage with Optrata.

Not Web 2.0, anyone for Lunch 2.0

Friday, October 13th, 2006

Seems like Tim Berners-Lee highlighted back in August that there wasn’t really much in the Web 2.0 model.  Going something along the line that no one can actually define what it is, and it is really more marketing buzz than any new technology.

This also highlighted the me too buzzwords that have sprung up around the subject.  There is work out there for me yet, in getting my head round SAO 2.0 (Service-oriented architecture?), grid 2.0, enterprise 2.0 (at least a good stab at a definition…) and advertising 2.0 (this is surely waffle 2.0) to name but a few.

However, I must say, hats off to Lunch 2.0, for really having some substance and meaning.  It truely is a version on from Lunch 1.0. I just wonder whether they have gone along with the Office 12 model and move from the menu format, to the ribbon?

How 2.0 – many more questions??

Thursday, October 12th, 2006

I now realise that When 2.0 did indeed preceed Where 2.0 but bizarrely they missed a trick as it was by Release 1.0, who as you will gather from the name, seem to be from a bygone age!  Now it’s great making up questions and giving them version numbers, but not only are they a full version behind and need to skip a number or two in the Word for Windows 2.0 to 6.0 model…

How 2 – already seems to have been covered.
