Eye-fi wireless photo transfer

Not since Sony played with bluetooth in the Cybershot DSC-FX77 back in 2003 has anyone done anything much about digital camera wireless connectivity.   The Eye-Fi is an SD card with built in Wi-Fi chipset that allows any SD compatable camera to become a Wi-Fi camera.

Once the Eye-Fi card  detects the home Wi-Fi network it has been confidured for, it automatically copes the images to a host PC on the network or uploads them directly to a number of web services.  These include Facebook, Gallery and Flickr plus sites offering to print out digital images like Snapfish, Sharpcast and Shutterfly.

The Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) is being pushed heavily by Sony at the moment.  Having recently sent out an advertising e-mail highlighting the headphones and Walkman mobile phones.  However, although there are a few devices that support this technology, only the Nokia 5700 seems to get any notice.

The Sony MEX-BT2500 Car Stereo looks like a step in the right direction though!
